Dear diary,

Today I witnessed an awful sight on this occasion. My family and I were celebrating Diwali by dressing up and going out to give food on the streets.

While I was making my way to one of my friends houses to go and meet them, I saw a beggar sitting hungry on the street. When I saw the condition of the beggar and his family, I got teared up.

My mother had given me sweets for my friends but I ended up giving it all to this beggar and his family.

I was glad to have done a good deed on this auspicious day.
