It is easier to cut an apple with a sharp knife than a blunt knife . Why?

pressure = force/ area


as we know sharp knife have less area in contact with Apple as compared to blunt one.

that's why it Will create more pressure. .as compared to blunt knife.

what you should know : Pressure = Force /Area

Assuming both are knives so exert equal force.

So , pressure is inversely proportional to area.

Blunt knife has greater area in contact and hence exerts lesser pressure as compared to a sharp knife.
