Because the surface area in contact is less of the nail at it's pointed end, it's easy to push it by the pointed end.
So, it concludes that pressure is inversely proportional to the surface area in contact.

Cause less area with more force is felt more as all the force is applied to the small area which converge into one point..as on the other hand if we try to push a nail from wide side it wouldn't get stuck because the area increases but force remains constant which makes the force to get distributed whole over the area and the effect felt is less..that's why thebag with widestrips is bit comfortable than of the small strips on the shoulder
