Cricket ball has more mass, so the inertia becomes very high. Due to high inertia, capability to maintain its inertia of motion increases. We need more force to stop a cricket ball whereas in case of tennis ball, due to less mass its inertia decreases. So capability of inertia of motion also decreases. Thus we need less force to stop a tennis ball.
