It is easy to stop atennis ball than a cricket ball moving with the same speed.why?

Solution :-
It is easier to stop a tennis ball rather than a cricket ball moving with the same speed because the mass of the cricket ball is much more as compared to the tennis ball. A cricket ball travelling at the same speed is more difficult to stop as it possesses a larger momentum. Momentum is directly proportional to mass and velocity of a body. As the mass and the velocity increase, the momentum associated with it also increase. More force will be needed to stop the cricket ball in comparison to the tennis ball.
It is easy to stop a tennis ball than a cricket ball moving with same speed because a cricket ball is more massive than a tennis ball. Due to this reason, there is also a difference in their inertias. Since, the cricket ball is more massive, it will have more inertia as compared to the tennis ball. Now, to stop the cricket ball we need to apply more force as it has more inertia of motion and we need to apply less force to stop the tennis ball as it has less inertia of motion.
Time and again, I am using the term 'inertia'. If you do not know what does it mean then read below :
Inertia is the inherent property of every object and it is due to this property that the object can resist the change in its state of rest or of motion.
