It is easy to walk on sand with flat shoes and not high heels because the surface area of heels is less than that of flat footwear.

Surface area is inversely proportional to pressure.

So, we feel less pressure while walking with flat shoes of greater surface area.

actually it depend upon base..........flat shoes has wider base than high heel.....high heel has pointed end so that it is unable to walk in .desert with high heel........
