It is found that resistance of the conductor depends (i) on its length, (ii) on its area of cross-section, and (iii) on the nature of its material. Precise measurements have shown that resistance of a uniform metallic conductor is directly proportional to its length (l) and inversely proportional to the area of cross-section (A) Apply above concept and find the ratio of the Resistance of the plate A to that of B A and B are two metal plates of same thickness and material. The side of B is twice that of A . and these are connected in series as shown in figure. (a) 2:1 (b) 1:2 (c) 1:1 (d) 1: 4
