SOLUTION :

Given : The probability of 2 students not having the same birthday = 0.992

Let E = Event of 2 students not  having same birthday

P(E) =  0.992

Let, (E¯) = event of 2 students having same birthday.

We know that, the sum of all the probabilities of all possible outcomes of experiment is 1.

P(Event) + P (not an Event) = 1.

P(E) +  P(E¯) = 1

P(E¯) = 1 -  P(E)

P(E¯)  = 1 – 0.992

P(E¯)  = 0.008

Hence, the probability of 2 students have the same birthday is 0.008
