It is given that Taj Mahal is made of calcium carbonate , then why it does not decompose when sunlight falls on it ?

Taj Mahal is made up of marble.This marble is metamorphic limestone which is formed when limestone is heated in very high temperatures and pressures.when sunlight falls it does not decompose as it is more stable.
