It is known that atom contain protons, neutrons, and electrons. If the mass of neutron assumed to half of its original value whereas that of proton is assumed to be twice its of original value then the atomic mass of 14 6 C will be.

Answer:

It is known that atom contain protons, neutrons, and electrons. If the mass of neutron is assumed to half of its original value where as that of proton is assumed to be twice of its original value then the atomic mass c will be

Explanation:

Solution :

14C6

Number of protons =6 , mass of protons = 6 amu

Number of protons =8 , mass of protons = 8 amu

Mass of 14C6=6+8=14amu

When mass of neutron is halved and mass of protons is doubled , mass of 14C6 becomes 82+6×2=16amu

Percentage by which the mass has increased =(16−14)/14×100

=14.28%

Hence , mass of 14C6 is 14.28% more
