It is because the surface of the fruit is large and a blunt knife occurs more surface than a sharp knife so it doesn't cut easily while when we use a sharp knife it cuts easily because it occurs a small surface of fruit then that of blunt knife.

P=f/a. It is the only logical explanation. Area increase pressure less. Area decreases pressure more. Simple physics worth remembering.

yes, its correct that it is difficult to cut a fruit using blunt knife rather than a sharp knife because the blunt side which has the larger surface area, as compared to the sharp side, increases the surface area so it becomes difficult to cut fruits with the blunt side of the knife. Opposite to this we can cut fruits easily from the sharp side.
