local time varies from one place to other which causes confusion while standard time is same in all the places throughout the country which is quite useful. so it is more practical to follow standard time than local time.

local time may vary from one region to another creating chaos and confusion . so it is always more agreeable to use the standard time 
for eg: IST or Indian standard time is used all over India so as to prevent confusion (even though there is a four minute difference between the eastern most and western most states )
