The reason is as simple as the Synthetic fibres like Polyester catches fire very easily and melts. After melting It sticks to the body of the person wearing it causing severe burns. Hence it is advised not wear synthetic clothes while working in the Kitchen. Its advised to wear Apron or cotton clothes while cooking in Kitchen...

synthetic clothes are very susceptible to fire. it means it can catch fire the moment it comes in contact with fire . hence to avoid the risk factor one must not wear synthetic clothes.
