it is observe that te temperature of the surroundings starts falling when the ice in a frozen pilake starts melting. give reason

It should be small and simple
i'm giving you 50pts

jemscollin: Yeah the temperature of surrounding will decrease be aise the heat transfers from Higher temperature to lower temperature so when ice melts heat from surrounding transfers from surrounding to ice

Answer-

Ice for melting extracts 336J/g of heat energy from the surroundings and as a surroundings loose a large amount of heat energy, the temperature falls

Your question had a little mistake.

It should be=>

It is observed that the temperature of the surroundings starts falling when the ice in a frozen lake starts melting. Give reasons.

ANSWER

-As we know that when an ice cube melts to form water it absorbs heat energy from its neighboring places to convert itself from a solid state to liquid.

-The same case happens when a frozen lake, melts it absorbs the heat from its surroundings making the surroundings cool. It takes up latent heat for melting from surroundings.

This results in the melting of ice and a decrease in the temperature of the surroundings.

Extra information

-Heat capacity= mass × specific heat capacity

=>H = m×L

-The melting point of ice is 273.16 K or 0°c or 32°F.

-Latent heat of Fusion (melting)

It can be said as the heat energy required to melt a 1kilogram of a solid substance into a liquid without a change in its temperature.

=It is 32°F for Ice.
