it is observed that number of scattered Alpha particle is directly proportional to the thickness of gold foil provided other factors remain unchanged and the thickness remains nominal .why?​

it is because chances of number of single collisions increases linearly with the increase in number of target atoms due to increase in the thickness of the gold foil.

foil is made up of a number of atom if it's thickness is large the each atom attached in gold foil are more dansed so the alpha particles get scattered more .
