✍️Question:-

\rule{300}{1}

\red\bigstar Distinguished between real and virtual image?

\blue\bigstar Write the rules for sign convention?

✍️Answer:-

1.  \sf {\boxed {\boxed {\tt {\red {Real\:Image}}}}}

  • Light rays actually meet to form a real image.
  • Image is inverted.
  • Image can be obtained on the screen.
  • This image is in front of mirror and behind the lens.
  • We can reach to it.
  • Example:- Cinema screen.

 \sf {\boxed {\boxed {\tt {\red {Virtual\:Image}}}}}

  • Light do not actually meet to form a virtual image.
  • Image is erect.
  • Image cannot be obtained on the screen.
  • This image is behind the mirror and in front of the lens.
  • We can't reach to it..Example:- Our image in plane mirror.

You can write it in distinguished form.

2. \sf {\boxed {\boxed {\tt {\blue {Rules\: for \: sign\: convention}}}}}

  • The object is always placed to the left of the mirror .This implies that the light from the object falls on the mirror from the left-hand side.
  • All distances parallel to the principle axis are measured from the pole of the mirror.
  • All the distances measured to the right of the origin [along +x axis] are taken as positive while those measured to the left of the origin[along x axis] are taken as negative.
  • Distance measured perpendicular to and above the principle axis [along +y axis] are taken as positive.
  • Distance measured perpendicular to the below principle axis [along y axis] are taken as negative.

Finally we finished with our problem
