Answer:

x = 1/4 or -1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets Factorize!

4x^2 + 2x + 1/4

First we multiply the coefficient of the number with highest power with the constant numeber

=> 4 * 1/4 = 1

Prime factors of one is just 1

Therefore

X + Y= 2   => 1 + 1 = 2

X * Y = 1    => 1 * 1 = 1

The two number which satisfy this equation is 1 and 1

So we can now split the middle term

4x^2 + x + x + 1/4

=>  x(4x + 1) + 1/4(4x + 1)

=>  (x + 1/4)(4x + 1)

=> x + 1/4 = 0       or     4x + 1 = 0

=> x = -1/4                => 4x = -1

                               => x = -1/4
