It is often said that the media can make or break a person, especially, sports personalities. There have been instances which have proven this notion. Sports personalities are the people who are very famous. The common people and their fans follow what they attempt to do in their real life. Media plays a very important role by portraying the image of the people before the people. What media portrays before the public, the public tends to accept that.

We are stated that media can either break or make a person and especially if the person is a sports personality and we are asked o explain the statement. This explanation is as under:

  • The statement media can make or break a person has a lot of credibilities.
  • PR is very important in the lives of celebrities, especially sports personalities.
  • Sportspersons carry a huge responsibility on their shoulders of presenting to the world an ideal persona.
  • Many people especially young children look up to these sportspersons as their idols.
  • Hence, what is presented to the media is very important.
  • The media can twist everything into a scandal or story of interest by quotes that are turned around to suit the purpose of getting a viral story.
  • Questions asked in media interviews are hard-hitting and mentally upsetting to many sportspeople.
  • Recently Tennis star Osaka had a mental breakdown when she was hounded by the media for certain stances she took.
  • The media can also build celebrities as icons from what is printed about these people.
  • So there is truth in the statement and also it is always said media is neither a friend nor an enemy.
