On the salinity of the water,
On the temperature of water.
The density of pure water or drinking water is less than that of ocean water because ocean water has more salt content and hence is saline.

Ocean water has many salts and minerals dissolved in it. That's why its density is different from density of pure water.
If you take one spoon water from the ocean, then its density will be same as ocean water.
But if you take a spoon water from another source, then its density might be different.
