it is said that,on the moon ,a person would weigh one-sixth as much as he/she weighs on the earth.why this so?

It is because the gravitational acceleration on the moon is 6times less as compared to the earth's gravitational acceleration,and weight is equal to mg thus the weight on the moon comes to mg/6.

B coz the moon's gravity is 1/6 of earth's and weight is equal to mass x gravity so the weight is one - sixth
