Answer:

small intestine is the site of complete digestion because, all enzymes and juices acts on the stomach and the food doesn't gets digested in stomach but in small intestine it is completely digested by the action of all juices and enzymes.

The digested food get absorbed in the small intestine only by the help of villi.

It is said that the small intestine is the site for complete digestion because of the following reasons:

1. The small intestine receives secretions from the liver, that is, bile. Bile helps in converting the acidic medium of food into alkaline medium which is necessary for the proper functioning of pancreatic enzymes. It also converts large fat globules into small globules for easy digestion.
2. In the small intestine, the pancreatic juices, i.e. trypsin, lipase and amylase breaks down the proteins, fats and carbohydrates respectively from the food.
3. In the small intestine, the intestinal juices secreted by the intestinal glands convert fats into fatty acids and glycerol, proteins into amino acids and carbohydrates into glucose.
4. Thus, the final digestion and absorption takes place in the small intestine.
