It is seen that people get comfort when they sprinkle water on the roof or open ground after a hot sunny day? Why?

People sprinkle water on the roof or open ground after a hot sunny day because the large latent heat of vaporisation of water helps to cool the surface.

Evaporation occurs . So heat goes to air . Remaining air is cold. So they feel comfortable.
