• Over the 40 years 1973-74 to 2013-2014, while production has grown in all three sectors, it has grown the most in the tertiary sector. As a consequence, the tertiary sector became the biggest producing sector in India in 2013-2014 replacing the primary sector.
• Firstly, various services, such as  education institutions, hospitals, telegraph & postal services, courts, police stations, defense, transport are regarded as basic services, Secondly, industry & agricultural resulted in the development of services such as transport, commerce, storage and the like. The need for such services will be greater for the growth of primary & secondary sectors. As such the more eh development of primary & Secondary sectors the more the demand for tertiary services
• Third, certain sections of people continue to claim due to rising incomes even more services such as eating out, shopping, tourist activities, private hospitals, professional training, private schools, and so on. This transition can be seen very clearly in cities , especially large cities.
• Fourthly, over the last decade or so, some new technologies have become important and central, such as those focused on information and communication technology. These services are steadily& quickly increasing in production.
