Lam-ang is told by his mother that his father has gone to find the Igorot. However, through a dream, he comes to know that his father has been killed in the fight. When he finds Igorot hosting a feast to celebrate the capture of his father with his head kept for display, Lam-ang kills everyone at the feast and mutilates the last member.

As time goes by, he falls in love with Ines Cannoyan, daughter of the wealthiest man of Kalanutian town. Although his mother tries to discourage him, he decks himself in gold and proceeds to the place with his rooster and dog. He overcomes various obstacles in his  path with ease. He manages to impress Ines with the magic that he performs along with his pets. She calls him home where the rooster acts as Lam-ang’s spokesperson. When her parents ask for a bride price, he is ready to give the same.

Lam-ang gets back to his hometown and gets the wedding gifts ready. He is also prepared for the occasion. Along with the townsfolk, he reaches Kalanutian on two golden ships and a Christian wedding takes place. Everyone then proceeds to Nalbuan, Lam-ang’s birth place.

After the celebrations, when he is hunting a shellfish, Lam-ang is swallowed by a giant fish. But, a diver gets access to his bones and the rooster blows life into it. Lam-ang gives the diver a reward and lives happily with his wife and pets.
