One of the basic necessities of life is to keep yourself and your surroundings clean. If a country is clean, then the citizens are healthy and this leads to a healthy nation. Cleanliness directly impacts the development and success of a country. Uncleanliness is deeply associated with unhealthiness.
Due to a lack of hygiene, various types of diseases spread to people. Infant and maternal mortality is very high in many countries in the world. India is also one of them. Efforts are on to reduce it. A global conference in this subject was held in New Delhi. In India, in 1990, 126 infants out of 1000 died under the age of 5 years. In 1913, India has been successful in reducing the number to 49.
Meanwhile, the infant mortality rate has decreased by 6.6% annually. The number of women who died at the time of delivery, which was 560 per thousand in 1990, has also come down to 67. Still, India has a very big problem to prevent many diseases caused by uncleanliness.
Lastly,i would like to tell very few simple things that we need to do to clean India as a part of this mission.
1) Don't Litter, throw waste in dustbin only.
2) Don't encourage spitting, immediately condemn people if found doing so.
3) Avoid usage of Plastic covers, plastic disposables. Carry a bag with you when you go for shopping, teach the people around you the same.
4) Teach Children about Cleanliness and Sanitation.
5) Plant trees around your house.
