here the related answer
This type of reflection is called Regular Reflection. IRREGULAR REFLECTION. When a beam of parallel light rays is scattered in all directions. Therefore the parallel rays incident on the surface will reflect in different directions. This type of reflection is called "Irregular or Diffuse Reflection".

It is very useful that all surfaces do not give regular reflection because -
• Due to irregular reflection we can see any object in our environment from any direction. If there is only regular reflection we can see objects from a particular direction only where the reflected light beams are heading towards.
• The irregularly reflected light beams are also responsible for the various optical phenomenon happening in our environment.
If there was only regular reflection most of these phenomenon will not occur.
