Once Helen was accused of Plagiarism for her story the Frost king. Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.
it was discovered that a story similar to the "Frost king" was the "Frost fairies" by Miss Margaret Canby had appeared in a book called "Birdie and hes as if friends".
The two stories were so much alike in thought and language that it appeared as if miss Canby's story had been read to Helen and that Helen story was a plagiarised version.
Helen was surprised and disturbed. She felt she had shamed and dishonoured herself and brought suspicion open those who she loved the most. Helen racked her brain until she was tired but could not remember having read or heard a similar story. In the quote Helen was thoroughly questioned and the judges almost forced her to accept that she had indeed heard the story "The Frost fairies" . Although nothing was proved against Helen she was deeply hurt and humiliated.
