Given data :

  • weight of potatoes = 5/4 kg
  • weight of carrots = 1/2 kg
  • weight of cabbage = 1/4 kg
  • weight of beans = 1/3 kg

Solution :

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = weight of potatoes + weight of carrots + weight of cabbage + weight of beans

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = 5/4 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/3

{multiply 1/2 by 2}

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = 5/4 + 2/4 + 1/4 + 1/3

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = (5+2+1)/4 + 1/3

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = 8/4 + 1/3

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = 2 + 1/3

{multiply 2 by 3}

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = (6 + 1)/3

⟹ Total weight of vegetables = 7/3 kg

Answer : Mother bought 7/3 kg of vegetables.
