It's a question from linear equations in One Variable.The difference between two numbers is 8. If 2 is added to the bigger number the result
will be three times the smaller number. Find the numbers.​

x+2=3y

x+2/3=y      -2

x-(x+2/3)=8

3x-x-2=24

2x-2=24

take 2 common

x-1=12

x=13

put valu of x in equation 2

13+2/3=y

15/3=y

5=y
