volume = 900 cm^3
    volume of cylinder = pi r ^h
                hight= 30
  22/7 (r) ^2 (30) = 1800
                 find r
 then subtract volume of cuboid from volume of cylinder to get the wastede amount.

Heya friend,

Here is your answer,

Given : length of cuboid = 30 cm and cross section like square of sides 14 cm

So, Height and breadth of the cuboid = 14 cm

For maximum possible volume of cylinder,

=> Radius of cylinder,(r) = 7 cm

=> Height of the cylinder,(h) = 30 cm

So,

Volume of cylinder = π × r² × h
=> 22/7 × 7² × 30
=> 22 × 7 × 30
=> 4620 cm³

Therefore, volume of cylinder = 4620 cm³

And,

Volume of cuboid = 14 × 14 × 30 = 5880 cm³

Volume of the metal left after the cylinder is cut out = (Volume of cuboid) - (Volume of cylinder) = (5880 - 4620) = 1260 cm³

Therefore, the volume of the wood wasted = 1260 cm³

Hope it helps you.
Thank you.
