Discriminant = 0
For the first equation,
(2p)² - 4 (1) (64) ≥0
4p² ≥64 × 4
p² ≥ 64
p² - 64 ≥0
(p-8)(p+8)≥0
p≥8, p≤-8
The question states only problem value,
Hence, p ≥8 …(1)
For the second equation,
8² - 4(2p) ≥ 0
64 - 8p≥0
8 - p≥0
8 ≥ p
p ≤ 8 …(2)
From (1) and (2),
The required positive value of p = 8
