Given:-

p(x) = x² - 4x + 3

➯ p(2) = (2)² - 4(2) + 3

= 4 - 8 + 3

= - 4 + 3

= - 1 ...[Value of p(2)]

➯ p(- 1) = (- 1)² - 4(- 1) + 3

= 1 + 4 + 3

= 5 + 3

= 8 ...[Value of p(- 1)]

➯ p(½) = (½)² - 4(½) + 3

= ¼ - 2 + 3

= ¼ + 1

= 5/4 ...[Value of p(½)]

NOW,

Finding value of p(2) - p(- 1) + p(½) :-

(- 1) - (8) + (5/4)

= - 1 - 8 + 5/4

= - 9 + 5/4

= (- 36 + 5)/4

= - 31/4 ...(Answer)

(b) - 31/4
