The environmental impact of miningincludes erosion, formation of sinkholes, loss of biodiversity, and contamination of soil, groundwater and surface water by chemicals from mining processes. ... In urbanised environments mining may produce noise pollution, dust pollution and visual pollution. If you mean crypto mining, its primarily the initial cost of buying hardware, setting it up, and then keeping it running. Electricity will be your primary cost, along with cooling if you’re in a warm climate. Depending on your hardware and what crypto you mine, it can take 6 months to start making profit as much of your initial gains will go to pay off your initial overhead. You may not want to sell the coins you mine until the market is in a good position, so that will dictate when you gain revenue as well which further puts stress on your needed some set of capital put aside to handle 6~ months of upkeep on your equipment. PoW mining for crypto will likely go away once PoS is worked out.

and mining makes it quite difficult for a normal person's life to go on without any problem.
