Answer:

12 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

A and B take 20 and 30 minutes to fill the tank respectively.

So the work they complete per minute is (1/20)th and (1/30)th respectively.

Together, they would complete (1/20) + (1/30) of the work.

= (3/60) + (2/60)

= 5/60

= 1/12th

Since they complete 1/12 of the work together, they will require 12 mins to complete the work.

Answer:

  • A to Fill = 20 minutes
  • B to Fill = 30 minutes

According to the Question :

⇒ To Fill = (A × B) / (A + B)

⇒ To Fill = (20 × 30) / (20 + 30)

⇒ To Fill = 600 / 50

To Fill = 12 minutes
