not a very good (realistic) problem because it assumes that all lawns are the same such that each could be done in ¾ hour. additionally, there is to consider the time taken to travel from one site to the next, and the fact that in 14 hours most workers would require some break(s) for pit stops, refreshment, etc. furthermore, worker efficiency cannot be kept at a constant rate over such a long day of labor.

so if you believe that this problem should be attempted anyway, you should divide 0.75 INTO 14 hours to get the # of lawns mowable (under these ridiculous conditions) in that time. note, also, i am assuming that the 'works at least 14 hours' that the fourteen does not include the half hour of lunchtime. the answer is 18.67, which should be taken to mean that the work will continue a bit beyond 14 hours of total work in order to complete 19 complete mowing jobs

the answer is 20 lawns ...

convert 15hours into minutes and calculate 3/4 into 60 and divide both we get 20lawns.
