As the sound has taken 2s to reach our ear, we will use the following formula to calculate the answer,

Distance = Speed*Time

Given,

Time, t = 2s

Speed, v = 343 m/s - (Speed on sound in air)

Distance, s = ? - (to be calculated)

Therefore,

S = VT

=> S = 343* 2

=> S = 686 m

The light took place 686 metres above the ground level.

Thank You
