a) The phenomenon associated with drying of clothes is called Evaporation( or sometimes called vaporization).

It is the process of convertion of a liquid into its gaseous form.

Spreading the clothes in the flowing air increases the rate of vaporization, and therefore the clothes dry up faster.

b) The factors that affect the process of evaporation are given below:

1. Humidity

2.Temperature

3.Pressure

4.Wind speed

5.Surface area

All these factors affect the rate of vaporization.

c) Alka was caring and kind enough to show Sheela the right way for drying clothes.

She asked her to dry the clothes in open flowing air since increased wind speed would also increase the rate of evaporate and hence faster drying up of the clothes.
