had often seen) emerged from the bushes and went straight for the cobra. In a

clearing beneath the tree, in bright sunshine, they came face to face. Cobra

knew only too well that the grey mongoose, three feet long, was a superb

fighter, clever and aggressive. But the cobra was skilful and experienced fighter

too. He could move swiftly and strike with the speed of light, and the sacs

behind his long, sharp fangs were full of deadly venom.

I was sleepy and was about to go swimming in the pond behind my house  when a huge black cobra slipped out of the cactus in the cool part of the garden. At the same time, a mongoose (which I have seen many times) emerged from the bushes and headed straight for the cobra. In a clearing under the trees, they faced each other in bright sunlight. Cobra was well aware that the one-meter-long gray mongoose was a show-stopper. It is a  skilled Fighter, smart and aggressive. But Cobra was also a skilled and experienced fighter. It could move quickly and attack at the speed of light, and the pouch behind its long, sharp fangs was filled with deadly poison.
