A Ghastly Rainy Night It was raining heavily the street lights had gone off and I was returning home after watching the late night show of a movie. Suddenly I heard a sound behind me. I looked back but no one was there. I started walking again. Again I heard a sound. This time I was sure I’d heard a cry of pain. I took my cell-phone and switched on the torch-light and started flashing it around. I noticed that the sound was coming from the left side. I was frightened but I took courage and went towards the sound what I saw gave me goose bumps. A man was lying in a pool of blood and his leg was crushed under a huge tree. On asking he told me that he had stopped under the tree and was waiting for the rain to stop when suddenly out of the dark two men came on a bike. They robbed him of his valuables. When he cried for help they shot him. As if it was not enough a storm started blowing immediately. The old tree could not stand against the raging storm. It was uprooted and his leg was crushed under it as it fell. I immediately called the ambulance because I could not lift that tree up. The ambulance arrived within no time. The people came and helped the man out of that painful experience. They lifted the tree with lots of labour put the man in the ambulance and took him to the hospital. I felt happy and contented that I had saved
A Mystery Rainy Night
It was raining heavily, the street lights had gone off and I was returning to my guest house, then suddenly I heard a sound from the nearby forest. I was alone in the street and it was winter in Punjab. So it was very natural that the ambiance of the surroundings would be serene and silence would grasp the whole area. I was in Punjab doing some official works and I stayed in a guest house. I went outside to get a night walk after dinner and that time there was no rain, there was a cold wind blowing. The rain came suddenly.
When I heard that sound, I stopped and to my surprise, the sound also stopped. I thought it would be some animals that were strolling in the forest to get a shelter as it was raining heavily there and it was chilling cold. Then I started to walk again towards my guest house, and then suddenly heard again that unpleasant sound. So naturally, I stopped again and move towards the sound to know the actual cause of the sound, I could see nothing but a dark forest, which was drenched with water. When I turned my back for return, I felt someone was just behind me and when I turned back there was no one. Then suddenly a branch fell from a tree, maybe showing that someone was not liking my arrival there. Without wasting any time, I came to the conclusion that even if I heard any sound I would not stop and would head straight to my guest house. While returning I heard different sounds and most of them were unpleasant to my ears.
What happened that night was still a mystery for me. I did not believe in the existence of ghosts or any souls but that night made me clear one thing that if there is good energy, definitely there will be bad energy. I do not know that it is a truth or not but that night left me with questions that were not answerable.
