It was on a Saturday evening and I had to leave exactly at 6: 30. I had made plans with friends to watch a movie and then go for dinner. No one was in the house. So, I took the keys to lock the door. Suddenly, I heard a sound as if something had crashed in the kitchen. I stood still for a moment, thinking if I had closed the window and the utility room door properly. I was not sure about the window though.
I said a silent prayer hoping it’s not a thief. I gathered all my courage and went slowly into the kitchen. I switched on the lights and started looking around with a grip on my fear, only to find a cat licking up the milk that was sprewn across the floor.
The cat had probably found its way into the kitchen through the window and pushed down the milk vessel, hoping to find itself something to eat.
Though it was just a cat, for me, it surely was a startling and mysterious experience for a few minutes.
