THE KNOCK OF LAST NIGHT
IT was so late at night that there was hardly a noise to be heard. I couldn't sleep as i already had completed it during the daytime. Having got nothing to do this late at night, I opened the window and took a look of things outside. It was pitch dark out there, no human could be seen on the streets and no noise except for the dog's bark could be heard. I was alone at home because my parents were away for they had to attend a wedding party. Since I was alone, and couldn't keep a track of time while sleeping till late at night I remembered i had to lock the door too. So i went downstairs ignoring the dark staircase, imagining the eerie shadows around me. Just as i had locked the door and went to the living room to enjoy myself with the cookies my mother had baked the other day; I heard a knock. A knock so unusual, enough to scare a 13 year old whose parents are away at the moment. I went downstairs, holding the fishing rod we had, and i ask, "Who's it?"
Having got no answer, I try to look through the peep hole and to my surprise, there was no one outside. So, I just go and hide myself inside the blanket. Although it was summers, i could feel the chills. As I open my eyes again, I can see the sunlight making its way through my window glass. Yes, the night is over.
Hope that helps!
