It is wrong to conclude that what cannot be measured is not important because:-
1. Our income, which can be measured, doesn't always indicate a good life. There are several other factors which are necessary for that.
2. Happiness, respect, freedom, growth opportunity, etc are very important though they can't be measured.
3. Sometimes, these factors are more important than income. In fact, most people choose a job that provides facilities like a good work environment, learning opportunity, leaves, etc instead of working for high pay without many facilities like having time for family.
4. We can explain this with the example of women as well. It is true that if women are engaged in paid work, their respect increases. But, for that, there has to be higher acceptance of women working outside homes, more sharing of housework, more dignity towards women, etc. All these can't be measured but they are very important.
