Explanation:

Let the current in starting branch 2 Ω and 4 Ω resistor be i₁ and i₂ respectively.

then, i₁ = 2 * 4/6 = 8/6 = 4 / 3 A

and, i₂ = 2 * 2/6 = 4/6  = 2 / 3 A

Also, Let the current in ending branch of 4Ω and 2Ω resistor be i₃ and i₄ respectively.

then i₃ = 4 / 3 * 4 / 6 = 16 / 18 = 8/9 A

and, i₄ = 2/3 * 2/6 = 4 / 18 = 2 / 9 A

Then, Current through AB = 8/9 - 2 / 9

                                            = 6/ 9 = 2 / 3 A

Therefore, Current through AB = 2 / 3 A
