Given function is

f(x) =x^2 -2x+4

so, f'(x) =2x-2

=>f'(c)=2c-2 ---------> (1)

Also, f'(c) =[ f(5)-f(1)]/5-1

Here, f(5)=5^2 -2×5+4=19

f(1)=1^2 -2×1+4=3

Hence, f'(c) =[19-3]/5-1 =16/4 =4

now, using equation 1), we get:

2c-2=4

2c=6

so, c=3 Ans.

option d) is correct✅
