Base=8cm

Hypotenuse=5cm when a perpendicular is drawn on the base.

Then new base=4cm

Perpendicular^2=(5)^2-(4)^2

Perpendicular^2=25-16

Perpendicular^2=9

Height=3cm

Area of right triangle=1/2×4×3

Area=6cm^2

Area of isosceles triangle=2×6=12cm^2

Hope it helps you
