Answer:

a)  40^0 C= 104^0F

b)  105^0F= 40.555^0C

Explanation:

We have the equations for converting

  • The temperature in Celcius scale to temperature in Fahrenheit scale   as,

        F=\frac{9}{5} C+32       ...(1)

        and

  • The temperature in Fahrenheit scale to Celcius scale as,

        C= \frac{(F-32) \times 5}{9}     ...(2)

Where,

C - the temperature on the Celcius scale and

F  - the temperature on the Fahrenheit scale.

In question (a), it is given that,

C = 40^0 C

Using equation (1),

F=(\frac{9}{5}\times 40)+32

    = 72+32= 104^0F

From question(b),

F =105^0F

Using equation (2),

C= \frac{(105-32) \times 5}{9}

     =40.5555 ^0 C
