The answers:-

1. Himalayan Rivers are the water bodies that emanate from the north of Himalayan mountain ranges. On the other extreme, Peninsular Rivers include those watercourses that arise from, Western Ghats or Central Highlands.

The Himalayan rivers are perennial, i.e. they have water all around the year. As against, Peninsular rivers are seasonal, in the sense that they have water during a particular period only.

Big deltas are formed by Himalayan Rivers. On the other extreme, some peninsular rivers like the Mahanadi, the Godavari, the Krishna and the Cauveri form deltas, while the Narmada and the Tapi form estuaries.

While Himalayan rivers form meanders, there is an absence of meanders in case of Peninsular rivers.

The bedrocks of Himalayan rivers are soft, sedimentary and easily erodible. Conversely, bedrocks of Peninsular rivers are hard, resistant and not easily erodible.

Himalayan rivers get water from snow and rain, whereas Peninsular rivers are fed by rain only.

The drainage basin of Himalayan rivers is comparatively larger than the Peninsular rivers.

Himalayan rivers water helps in the irrigation of Northern Plains. In contrast, Peninsular rivers irrigate Deccan Plateau.

Himalayan rivers form a V-shaped valley, while Peninsular watercourses form valley having a U-shape.

2. WESTERN GHATS EASTERN GHATS

1)They lie parallel to the western coast. 1)They lie parallel to the eastern coast.

2)They are continous. 2) They are discontinous.

3)Highest peak is Anaimudi. 3)Highest peak is the Mahendragiri.

3. HIMADRI

It is the northernmost range of Himalayas.

Also known as "Great Himalayas" or "Inner Himalayas".

It is the most continuous range consisting of very high peaks.

Average height of Himadri range is 6000m.

Core of the Himadri range is composed of granite.

It is covered with snow almost throughout the year and a number of glaciers descend from it.

HIMACHAL

This range lies to the south of Himadri and forms the most rugged mountain system.

Also known as "Lesser Himalayas".

It is mainly composed of highly compressed and altered rocks.

Altitude varies between 3700 to 4500m and average width is 50m.

Further divided into -- Pir Panjal range, Mahabharata and Dhauladhar range.

Well known for hill stations- Kashmir valley, Kullu valley, Kangra valley.

4. The Eastern Coastal plain lies along the east coast of India and is washed by the Bay of Bengal whereas the Western Coastal Plain lies along the west coast of India and is washed by The Arabian Sea.

2. The East Coast plain runs smoothly from the north to the south with a broad plain and level surface whereas the West Coast plain also runs from the north to the south and it is in some places intersected by the mountain ridges.

3. The large rivers make wide deltas on the Eastern Coastal Plains. But the short swift rivers do not make any deltas on the West Coast.
