The angle between any two consecutive numbers of a clock is

360°12

= 30°.

If the minute-hand is at 7 and hour-hand is at 1, angle between them is (6 x 30°) = 180°.

But at 35 past one, i.e., at 1.35, the hour-hand has moved 35 minutes towards 2.

In 60 minutes, the hour-hand covers 30°, therefore in 35 minutes, it covers

(35×3060)∘ = 17°30'

∴ the angle between the two hands of the clock at thirty five past one = 180° – 17°30'= 162°30'.

Answer:

175°

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle between any two consecutive numbers of a clock is 360/12=30°

If the minutes hand is at 1 and hour hand is at 1, angle between them is 1×30°=30°

But at 5 past one i.e.., at 1:05 the hour hand has moved 5 minutes toward 2

In 60 minutes, the hour hand cover 30°, therefore in 5 minutes, it covers 5×30/30=5°

-the angle between the two hands of the clock at 5 past one = 180-5=175
