1. Saliva helps the food to digest . Saliva contains the enzyme amylase that breaks some starches . digestion of food occurs within the mouth, even before food reaches the stomach.
2. The oesophagus is a long thin pipe in the throat to stomach . Food and liquids that have been swallowed into the throat to reach the stomach.
3. Pancreatic enzymes break down food in the small intestine. When food enters the duodenum, it is deluged with pancreatic juice, which is defined as an alkaline secretion of the pancreas containing enzymes that aid in the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
4. Bile is a greenish-yellow fluid made by the liver and stored in our gallbladder. Bile salts help with the digestion of fats in our bodies. They also help us to absorb fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K.
5. Pseudopods are actually extensions of the cytoplasm, or the thick liquid that is inside organisms like amoeba. The organism can change the shape of the pseudopod, making it move, appear, and disappear. The pseudopods are used in movement and as a tool to capture prey.
