The only drawback in the agreement or the bond supposed by Shylock, it lacked the term that blood could be shed. It only asked for a pound of flesh, while anything about shedding Christian blood was not mentioned.
According to the Venetian rules, any foreigner or citizen who plots against Venetian Citizen will be confiscated. Half of the criminal's property will go the one he has plotted against and the other half will to the Venetian Government. Further charges can also be applied as done by Antonio who demanded Shylock to convert into Christianity.
